The One Another Chapter - Romans 14

June 14, 2015

The believers in Rome were divided over special diets and special days. Some members thought it sin to eat meat, ate only vegetables. Others thought it sin not to observe the Jewish holy days. If each had kept his convictions to himself, would have been no problem, but they began to criticize and judge one another. The one group was sure the other group was not at all spiritual.

The Kings Wedding Feast (Ma 22:1-13)

June 14, 2015

Summertime is full of weddings! Have you received an invitation? It’s typical for the parents of the bride to send out invitations to many people, with only a percentage of those invited showing up. Many are invited, fewer attend.

Jesus tells a parable about a king who sent out invitations to his son’s wedding. Everything was ready but nobody was coming. Invited guests had varying excuses on why they couldn’t attend. Some has work to do at their home farm, others at their business.

Our Father in Heaven has sent invitations to all the people in the world. Come to the wedding of my Son, Jesus. What is your reply? Are you too busy with work to come? Have you simply ignored the invitation? Worse yet, have you mistreated the messengers of the invitation? And if so, how do you think the King will respond?

Many are invited, fewer attend. Everyone has excuses.

God does not say “no” to anyone Jesus brings before Him (Jn 17:6).

Forerunner Prophecy

June 10, 2015

Habbakuk asked how long? He knew of the prophecies of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Micah, Daniel about the coming Messiah. How long will God let unjudged sin go on? The Jews believed the Messiah would be their deliverer, and in the sense of a physical king.

Components of the prophecy: Isaiah is saying the announcer will be calling out in the wilderness, to prepare a way, prepare ourselves for the Messiah.
