Daniel’s Vision - Messiah to the Tribulation

Where do we get our teachings on the End Times such as the 7 year tribulation, the resurrection, the antichrist, the millennial reign etc.?  

You might be surprised to know it isn't just in The Revelation.

Travel back with us to 550 b.c. and listen to a prophesied timing when the Messiah would come.  Hear about the 70 weeks and how this reveals the 7 year tribulation and the introduction of the antichrist and his actions during this time.

Daniel’s Vision of the Four Beasts

The Vision (7:1-14) & The Interpretation (7:15-28)

Daniel chapters 7-12 deal with the 4 beasts, Ancient of Days, 10 horns+1, Everlasting Kingdom, Antichrist, 70 weeks, Tribulation, Israel, Resurrection.

This should begin to help the Believer put together understanding of the facets of the End Times that we speak of frequently.  Where did this one-world government and the antichrist come from in the Bible?  When will all of this happen and how do we know it's 7 years? And so on...

 

The Power of God

God has planted the gospel in each of us.  He is entrusting it to us, to share with others, to let it have it’s effect in us, to produce a disciple of Jesus with a biblical worldview.

If you don’t study the bible and gather with the general assembly, you won’t develop a biblical worldview.  You will have a mish-mash of biblical and unbiblical doctrines producing a false theology.

Our protection against false teaching is the Holy Spirit and God’s Word.  Do you have them?

How the Light looks from the Darkness

Picture in your mind, walking down a dark street with no lights or hanging out in a dark nightclub, where you are doing evil things in the midst of other people doing the same…   

You see in the distance a warm light.  You are drawn closer to it.  You get there and look in the window ... listen in to hear more.

Christmas Morning, The Day After

 The Day After Jesus was born.  Now the hard work begins. The spiritual battle continues to rage.  Likewise, after our spiritual birth, the battle rages too!  

…do you perceive it?…We share in Jesus’ sufferings…persecution from family/friends…being shunned from the “in” crowd…there is a war over your soul!…this is way better though, I can attest!…

Upon His birth, His future was spoken of as the present. Jesus’ birth began something new, Hasn’t ended, Haven’t yet seen the final scene, More to come.  Let US Hold Unswervingly to our Hope.  Press On, Don’t Shrink Back.

Jesus is our Prince of Peace

What do you think of when you hear the word “Peace?”

Two thousand years ago, God sent us peace in a person.  Jesus is this prophesied Prince of Peace.  Jesus Christ: Peace incarnate and the Bringer of Peace.

Jesus is the giver of peace and He left it with us.  The Antichrist will be the bringer of deception.

To obtain and cultivate joy and peace we must cultivate our relationship with Jesus!  Start, Do, End your day with Jesus.

Jesus Brings Joy

Joy has come.  Let Heaven and Earth Rejoice.  What brings you joy? What is Joy exactly? Where is Joy Found?  

Is the Christmas season a time of sadness, heartbreak, unmet desires?  Joy is an antidote to depression, misery, and more.

Satan is a joy-stealer but we are joy-spreaders.

This message reveals the surprisingly simple principle of J.O.Y.  Today, we've got Good News of Great Joy for all the People!

Jesus, the Humble king

Christmas is about the advent of the Messiah, the humble king.

Those who waited with pride of heart were disappointed at His first advent.  He came as a humble servant king not a warrior king.   Upon His second advent He will come as a warrior king.

“Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?”

Being under the thumb of the Romans they wanted power to overcome them. Instead, Jesus gave them the power of the Holy Spirit - to be witnesses for Him, not warriors.

And in fact, just a few decades after this conversation, Jerusalem was sacked and the Jews were disbursed.  The nation-state of Israel was dismantled in order to expand the borders of the Kingdom.  

And instead of being equipped to drive out the oppressors with swords, the disciples are told to pray for them and respond with foolish generosity and grace. What??!!

How then do we imitate Jesus’ humility as our role model?

Are we Christians waiting for the second advent with proud hearts bent on fighting the unsaved world to bring it about?

Shadows and the Substance

The spiritual change that Christmas brought, is that, the substance belongs to Christ.  The Birth of Christ marks the replacement of shadows of heavenly things with the substance from heaven. A shadow is a partial revealing of what the light is shining on.  Shadows can become idols.

Do you feel like you must DO something to be accepted by Him?

The spiritual solution to the spiritual problem is the same for everyone everywhere.

The Day of the Lord

 Peter tells us what this is, what it looks like, how it comes. We want to know when it will come. What should we be doing?  Peter is echoing what is prophesied by Joel 2,3.  Paul too, speaks of The Day of the Lord.  And knowing this about the coming Day of the Lord, how should we be living our lives?  This challenging message concludes with 15 Be Attitudes that will help us along our way.
